How Social Bookmarking Increases Traffic to Your Blog

Social bookmarking is a great way to increase the traffic to your blog. (or to get more distance from a published article.) Social bookmarking allows you to share sites that you like with other users, and helps create backlinks that drive traffic to your site by getting the word out and to make your blog visible to as many people as possible. It’s one thing to publish a blog or article and another to promote it on the Internet so people actually see it and read it.

That’s your goal as a marketer and that’s why taking this important step is the difference between blogs that get traffic and rank well, and those that don’t. It also contributes to search engine optimization (SEO) which is all about being the popular kid on the block. The higher your traffic flow the better you rank, and the more often people will see and visit your blog. The search engines love it when a site is “popular” and give it better positioning. Their goal is to give users relevant information. “Popularity” is the same as “relevant” when it come to SEO. So get out there and be seen!

Using social bookmark sites is just one way to get the search engines to notice you. It’s part of building a web of backlinks and networks that bring traffic, followers and eventually sales. After posting useful information on your blog. You can also link to multiple forums and social networks like Facebook and Twitter, but for now, let’s focus on this list of social bookmarks:

  • Digg.com
  • YahooBuzz
  • Technorati.com
  • Del.icio.us
  • Propeller
  • StumbleUpon
  • Reddit
  • Mixx
  • Fark
  • MyBlogLog

You can also find a list at SocialMarker.com. To get started by sign into each bookmarking site. It might take a little time to do this, but you only need to do it once. Then you’re ready to start submitting your posts. Just don’t over do it, or you’ll get tagged for spam. I’ll explain exactly how it’s done  in my next blog post!

To your abundant success,
