I’m someone who needs to feel passionate about the things I do. It must be the artist in me. It’s also why I’ll gladly tackle a challenge if it’s something or someone I care about.
I knew I would never survive a desk job or life in corporate America, so I let my talents guide my career. At times I wondered if I’d missed out on the security of having a steady job, but now I know better. Thinking for myself has been good preparation for becoming an Internet entrepreneur.
My father was my role model. He worked hard at something he was passionate about and still enjoyed running a farm on the weekends while keeping up with a number of other interests. Though my father was a medical research scientist, I saw him as the creative one in the family.
As a kid I was fortunate that both my parents believed in my artistic ability. I studied sculpture in college, then said “bye-bye” to Mom and Dad and headed off to Europe. I traveled like crazy and soaked up as much European art and culture as I could on a shoestring budget.
I sought artistic inspiration traveling around the world to places where I didn’t know a soul or the language. I learned that there’s always a way to communicate and to connect with people. Everyone has a heart, and a smile goes a long way.
That’s the reason I was drawn to the Internet.
The way I look at it, marketing on the internet is just another form of connecting with all kinds of people. Entrepreneurship requires creative thinking too — figuring out what works, and then executing it by developing the skills that make the idea come to life. It’s become my latest passion.
I moved to New York City in the early 90’s as a sculptor and 3 years later, I morphed into a makeup artist. I worked with many big stars from MIRAMAX, Warner Brothers, and SNL, as well as TV anchors Diane Sawyer and Deborah Norville.
It was a lot of fun, but I just couldn’t see myself doing it for another 10 years. I wanted to do something that would make a difference, especially in the lives of children who live in poverty. We have such abundance compared most of the world’s population. I decided it’s time to share the wealth.
So I took my 15-years’ experience of successfully marketing myself to major entertainment studios and fashion photographers, and applied the same skills to growing a business as an Internet marketer who helps people like you realize your own passions and dreams. I believe we can all make a difference.
